Ocupa
una superficie de 1.531 km2. Es una gigantesca montaña en forma
de cúpula de cerca de 2000 m de altura, desgarrada por grandes
barrancos. Su forma es casi redonda con el apéndice de la isleta,
conjunto de erupciones recientes que han aumentado la isla y creado
la zona abrigada del puerto de la luz y de las palmas. Cuenta con
varios espacios de interés natural: Tamadaba y Andén
Verde, Dunas de Maspalomas, Caldera de Bandama, El Nublo, Los Tiles,
Güigüi, Guayadeque, Pajonales, Ojeda, Inagua,...
En
la Costa de Gran Canaria se han desarrollado importantes urbanizaciones
turísticas, destaca Maspalomas- Costa Canaria, la mayor de
las islas, que prácticamente envuelve el espléndido
campo de dunas

está formada por siete islas y varios islotes. Son poco extensas,
pues su superficie total sólo abarca 7.501 km2. Se encuentra
entre los 27º y 29º de Latitud Norte, o sea, a poco más
de cuatro grados del Trópico de Cáncer. Esta latitud
da a las islas un carácter subtropical, por estar situadas
dentro de la zona de gran influencia de los vientos alisios, unido
a la situación oceánica de las costas africanas y la
corriente fría de las islas determinan el clima insular. El
clima canario se caracteriza por la débil oscilación
de las temperaturas a lo largo de todo el año, oscila entre
los 19º y 22º. La ciudad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria ha
sido catalogada como el mejor clima del mundo por la Universidad de
Siracusa. Expresiones como Islas Afortunadas o Jardín de las
Hespérides con las que en la antigüedad fueron conocidas
las Canarias, reflejan lo bonancible y templado de su clima

Remain in the extensive trail, that now goes up the cuestra during approximately 8 km, with what we recover to around 350 meters of unevenness accumulated, fork, final of the trail that from Soria rises, rotate to the right toward the highway asfaltada; to the right there is an area of rest (with pretty views), still lack for traveling through 5,4 km of slope to Ayacata. Crossing in Ayacata, rotate to the right, from here is relatively flat with ascents and descended very smooth; to the left will see some restaurants of mountain. To the left, there is a cave with an area of rest and a source with drinkable water. Again, we are up the slope, by hand right stupendous views al valley. Now the route is down the slope by the slope , crossing, rotate to the right; begins the asphalt road, still remains a section of down the slope and later flat with small slopes.
